German Federal Patent Court

In October 2003, a Memorandum of understanding between MIPLC and the German Federal Patent Court was enacted, the major objective of which was for the Court to provide internship places for MIPLC students.

In the academic year 2005/06, Judge Tomohiro Hioki, one of the judges sent to the MIPLC by the Supreme Court of Japan, made use of this opportunity. Spending four weeks at this important German IP court provided Judge Hioki with valuable first-hand experience in preparation for his future position at the Supreme Court of Japan.
