Research

Research is one of the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center's core areas of activity. The Cooperation Agreement creating the Center lists the preparation and support of papers on research topics, "particularly those which seek to develop innovative practical recommendations," as the first goal.

While the MIPLC's main focus has been on the LL.M. IP program, we also started to conduct and facilitate research projects directly after our foundation. These research projects can be grouped into three categories: General projects; Ph.D. Theses; and Master's Theses. In addition, we hold a Lecture Series, in which renowned scholars and practitioners from all over the world are invited to give presentations on current issues of intellectual property law.

  • General Projects
General Projects are either short-term individual projects, realized by researchers visiting the MIPLC, or more extensive, collaborative projects, for which scholars at MIPLC cooperate with other scholars from all over the world.
  • Ph.D. Theses
  • Master's Theses
The Master's Theses prepared by our LL.M. students as a mandatory requirement of the LL.M. IP Program constitute a third important instance of research undertaken at the MIPLC.
  • MIPLC Lecture Series
In the context of the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center Lecture Series, initiated in 2005, renowned scholars and practitioners from all over the world are invited to give presentation on current issues of intellectual property law.
