MIPLC Welcomes New Program Director

In time for the new academic year, Mrinalini Kochupillai joined the MIPLC to replace Dr. GintarÄ— SurblytÄ— who left end of September to concentrate on her academic research at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition.

Mrinalini holds a B.A. LL.B (Hons.) degree from the National Law Institute University, Bhopal, India, and an LL.M. in Intellectual Property, Commerce and Technology from the University of New Hampshire School of Law (formerly the Franklin Pierce Law Center). She has been associated with the MIPLC and the Max Planck Institute since 2008, first as an independent MIPLC research fellow and then as a Ph.D. research fellow with the IMPRS-CI. Her research focusses on patents and plant variety protection, especially in developing countries, and adopts an inter- and multi-disciplinary approach.

MIPLC is glad to have Mrinalini on the team and looks forward to working with her.
