Korea Institute for Intellectual Property

Founded in 2005, the KIIP is a young organization which was outsourced from the Korean Patent Agent Association (Korea Invention Promotion Assovciation KIPA) as a research institution intended to systematically deal with the needs and circumstances arising in the knowledge-based society.

While in the phase of setting up the management and operation systems and, in particular, a well-established library, KIIP's Director, Prof. Ahn Kwang-Koo, and some staff members visited the MIPLC and the Max Planck Institute in January 2007 as model institutons for their scope. During this visit, the cooperation agreement was signed which includes, inter alia, the exchange of materials and the organization of joint symposiums or seminars.
